San Diego, CA – June 16, 2011 – Trade Service announced today that Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) is now referenced on over one half million items in its eDataFlex® product and pricing service. Since Trade Service began including this sought after information in its database in 2009, more manufacturers have begun to carry the content within their price sheets and catalogs.
Commercial project owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and government agencies continue to specify that only products made in the USA will be considered for jobs they are overseeing. This stipulation has made it increasingly critical that contractors and distributors know in advance where the products they buy, stock, sell, and install are manufactured. “One advantage to having a base of over 20,000 end-user desktops and 7,200 distributor locations relying on Trade Service-provided content is that we are constantly aware of the industry’s hottest and most critical data requirements,” says Tony Dubreville, President and CEO. “There’s no question that in today’s global economy, having immediate visibility into country of origin labeling facilitates an efficient flow of product through the channel and ensures that work is performed to the specified requirements of the job,” adds Dubreville.
Many of the industry’s key manufacturers are providing country of origin labeling to Trade Service today, and as more manufacturers start to follow this growing trend, we will promptly make it available to our subscribers.
